My family has been rooted in Penboc’h for generations, and opening a kayak rental here is a way to share a part of my life and my passion for the sea (sailing, surf, kayak…). Before renting kayaks I used to rent skis — I still love discovering every secret of the gulf: its currents, its islands and its sheltered spots, depending on the weather, of course. Lodo On Board is located at Penboc’h Beach in Arradon, in the heart of the Gulf of Morbihan.
Our departure point offers direct access to the water, making it easy and safe to launch your kayak or paddleboard.
Penboc’h Beach is an ideal starting point to explore the gulf, with quick access to nearby islands and sheltered routes suitable for all levels.
How to get there
Parking spaces are available at Bourgerel to leave your vehicle. To reach the beach, continue on foot (500 M), following the Lodo path.
If you are coming by bike, it is possible to park directly in front of the beach.
We will welcome you directly on the beach and provide all the equipment and advice you need before heading out.

Book your equipment online through our website. I'll meet you on Penboch beach in Arradon with
your gear ready to go, including life jackets, dry bags, and a map of the area. We'll advise
you on several possible routes based on your preferences. Remember to bring sun protection,
a water bottle, and closed-toe shoes or kayak booties (mandatory). Your equipment will be
waiting for you on the beach upon your return.

For kayaking, children must be over 7 years old and all participants must be able to swim 25 meters without buoyancy aids and submerge themselves (put their head underwater).
Penboch beach is one of the few places in the gulf where departures and arrivals are possible at both high and low tide. Departures are from 9:00 AM and the last returns are at 6:30 PM.
Wear clothes that can get wet, especially on your lower body (swimsuit, beach shorts, windbreaker), and closed-toe shoes for walking in the water (the water will be slightly below your knees to get in). Don't forget your water bottle and sunscreen. Also bring your phone to stay connected and capture your outing (the provided water bottles are completely waterproof).
For a day trip, you can bring food in waterproof containers. Avoid bulky bags; a kayak is a small boat. Pre-made sandwiches, for example, are very practical. Don't forget a small trash bag for your rubbish. Please be sure to respect the cleanliness of the natural sites where you land.
Your rental company is there to assist you in this exploration; they will provide you with a map of the surrounding area and advise you on the most beautiful routes according to your preferences. Apps are available to help you navigate, such as C-MAP.
The meeting point for kayaking or paddleboarding is directly on Penboch beach. Please arrive dressed for paddling as there are no lockers available for your belongings. We will only store your shoes if needed. Restrooms are available on the beach.
The paddle and the position in the boat make all the difference. Kayakers use a double-bladed paddle and sit with their legs extended. Canoeists use a single-bladed paddle and are usually kneeling. Canoes are primarily used on lakes and rivers, while kayaks are the most common mode of transport at sea.
